Indian travel insurance vs International Travel insurance

The table below provides an overview of the comparison between the Indian Travel insurance plans and that of the Global insurers. While one can observe that the Medical benefits are comparable, the limits of cover can be much lower in the global plans. Also on the Travel benefits, most Global plans do not offer any coverage at all. It is important to note that atleast 40-45% of claims filed by Indian travellers are for Non Medical/Travel related claims, this typically means that there would be no cover available if the traveller opts for a global plan.

One of the key reservations that most Indian travellers have is of the availability of Inpatient Cashless Treatment under the Global plans. All Indian travel insurance for travel abroad also offer Inpatient Cashless coverage and hence the traveller will not end up spending their money for a covered hospitalisation.
